A corner of Sydney that I see almost everyday from my balcony. Sometimes, when it’s raining, the scene is so much different. I wonder how the old city looked like?
“Here was my city, immense, overpowering, flooded with energy and light… And there was I, breasting the March wind, drinking in the city and sky, both vast, yet both contained in me, transmitting through me the great mysterious will that had made them and the promise of the new day that was still to come…”
Robert Drewe (From the Introduction to a book called Book of the City)
This is too weird – this is exactly the sort of thing I was pondering while writing my latest post. I love how misty everything looks – just gorgeous.
Lovely photo! Love the quote too…that's how I feel about my own city
What a stunning photo. It almost has an ethereal quality about it. So beautiful!
So lovely — you can see a bit of the Opera House? I know there are still some old parts of Sydney, but they seem smaller and smaller.
EB, oh you know they say great minds…
I have never been to Australia but this is one of the places I would love to check out one day. How lucky of you to live there
I love that shot with it's retro touch! A great view!
Gorgeous photo and great view in the morning. I love city views-hubby is soothed by the view of water but I am soothed by twinkling lights
Beautiful pic there, it must be quite a sight to wake up to that every morning, complete with the sun rising :)
What a beautiful view – it's so quintessientally Sydney, coathanger on one side, sails on the other…
thats a good view you have there. With all that high rise buildings around..is there any greenery around ? Personally i love to see greenery around.
Thanks all.
okay
love to see more of australia.
What a gorgeous picture…so much to think about! WOW
Oh WOW! You get a view of THE Bridge on the left and the Sails of the Opera house on the left – simply amazing view! I fell in love with the Harbour Bridge when I visited Syd back in 1988 – as a student in Melb… I think the skyline HAS changed a lot since then…
What beautiful pics Anh! Thanks for the wishes dear..
